Jogger Says Dustin Hoffman Helped Save His Life
May 08, 2012
A man who collapsed and suffered a heart attack while jogging in London last month is crediting Dustin Hoffman with helping save his life.
Sam Dempster, 27, says the 74-year-old star called an ambulance and waited with him after he collapsed in London's Hyde Park on April 27. On his recovery blog, the jogger thanked medical staff and singled out Hoffman, whom he said he was "indebted" to and called "my new found favorite celebrity."

Hoffman, who owns a home in London, was enjoying a morning walk in the park when he saw Dempster crash to the ground face first.
Paramedic Martin Macarthur was quoted as saying that the actor "stayed on the scene for the whole duration of the resuscitation, which was about 15 minutes. He was very concerned"
