While the trailer for the new comedy What to Expect When You're Expecting reveals plenty of funny moments, Jennifer Lopez recently revealed that the movie also carries a more serious message about why many parents decide to adopt in addition to having biological children.
A big part of the film's adoption message has to do with the twin boys of Kindred and Meredith Howard of Atlanta, who adopted Samuel and Asher as babies in Ethiopia despite their various health issues. The mother died giving birth and their father gave the boys up to an orphanage because he didn't have the basic resources to keep them alive.
Watch the video for ET's exclusive ride-along with the Howard's on their way to the boys' first glamorous red carpet premiere and to hear the family's heartwarming "miracle" adoption story.
Inspired by the well-known New York Times bestselling pregnancy manual, What to Expect When You're Expecting chronicles the hilarious and touching stories of five couples who face the many challenges adjusting to pregnancy and parenthood.
Also starring in the film -- which hits theaters this Friday -- are Elizabeth Banks, Cameron Diaz, Brooklyn Decker, Chace Crawford, Anna Kendrick, Matthew Morrison, Dennis Quaid, Rodrigo Santoro, Ben Falcone and Joe Manganiello.
One of the organizations created to help connect adoption-seeking parents to needy children is the Gift of Adoption Fund
, a national charitable organization that provides financial grants to families who otherwise could not afford it.
