Michael McKean, best known for his comedy roles in numerous films and TV shows, was injured after being hit by a car in New York City Tuesday afternoon.
The 64-year-old veteran star of Laverne & Shirley, This is Spinal Tap and Saturday Night Live broke his leg and suffered cuts and bruises after he was struck while walking on the Upper West Side around 3 p.m. He is currently in stable condition in a New York hospital, according to the New York Daily News.
The three passengers in the vehicle were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to the FDNY.
Us Weekly reports that McKean's wife, actress Annette O'Toole, is flying in from Los Angeles to be with him. The actor was in Manhattan performing in the Broadway play The Best Man, and his rep said, "It's the first time he will have ever missed a curtain in his entire life. His understudy has never gone on in 40-plus years."
