Today, Oscar-nominated screenwriter Nora Ephron passed away at 71. In digging through our ET video archives we've found clips of the scribe from the set of her last film Julie & Julia.

"Nora's very funny and very witty and sure," star Meryl Streep said of the screenwriter who also directed the film. "She was really sure about the material, and very generous with Stanley [Tucci] and I and all the actors in letting us discover these characters."

This was Meryl's second time reading Ephron's words, as they also worked together in the 1986 autobiographical drama Heartburn, which also starred Jack Nicholson. The screenplay was based on Ephron's best-selling novel that depicted her real-life breakup with writer Carl Bernstein.

According to the Washington Post, Ephron passed away from the blood disorder myelodysplasia. She was reportedly diagnosed with the disorder six years ago.
