Fitness guru Jillian Michaels is blending both of her worlds, motherhood and exercise. The mom of newborn son Phoenix and two-year-old daughter Lukensia innovatively uses her babies' bodyweight to build her muscles.
"Being a new mom, my fitness regime has taken a bit of a hit. I try to get creative with it, like, I'll carry my daughter up and down the stairs," she laughed. "Or when I'm trying to put her to sleep I'll do squats with her." Although it's difficult at times to stick to her typical bootcamp-like schedule, Jillian sneaks in workouts during nap time.
Parenthood has also heightened Jillian's concern for finding a cure for cancer. She recently teamed up with Stand Up 2 Cancer (SU2C) and K-Swiss for a campaign to raise awareness for the disease. "I want to be part of the solution," she asserted. "With my kids, I'm thinking about the statistics… Our children have a less greater life expectancy than we have today in my generation and this is the first time in the history of humanity that that's happened, so I'm very focused on prevention and cure."
Jillian proudly stands up tall for the prosperous future of her kids and for loved ones she has lost to cancer. She said with concern, " stand up for the fear that someone is gonna have to stand up for me one day."
