Television legend Andy Griffith, best known for playing a small town sheriff on The Andy Griffith Show, died today at his home in North Carolina. He was 86 years old.
In remembering the beloved actor, let's take a look back at our 1992 interview with Andy Griffith when he was finally inducted into the TV Academy Hall of Fame, where he commented on how he would like to be remembered.
"I'd like to work until I can't remember my lines anymore," he told ET. "It's up to whatever people think at that time. If I have done something that's entertaining and it's on tape or film, they'll watch it," he smiled.
