Where Did Tom Cruise Spend His Birthday?
Today was Tom Cruise's 50th birthday, so we decided to examine where he spent this milestone day following last week's shocking divorce filing by his wife, Katie Holmes.
Previous reports placed Cruise in Iceland, where he filmed on the set of his action movie Oblivion. But after the wrap of shooting on the European set, the star reportedly boarded his private jet at 2 a.m. Tuesday to fly more than 4,300 miles from Iceland's capital Reykjavik, to Burbank, CA.

Many are speculating that Cruise's trip to California is the first step in a series of counter moves as he prepares to file his own divorce papers ahead of a possible fight for joint custody of the couple's six-year-old daughter Suri.
Cruise is expected in the coming months to focus on his children and will continue shooting Oblivion, while Katie and Suri remain in New York, setting up a new home in their reported $12,000-a-month Manhattan apartment.

The split -- one of Hollywood's most high-profile divorces ever -- caught many off-guard and there were certainly no clues in Cruise's last TV interview -- shot just two weeks before Katie's surprise filing. "She's genuine and she's just... you just feel good with her," he gushed about his soon-to-be ex-wife. "And it's someone who really cares about other people -- great spirit, fun, funny. You know, really funny… and she just makes me laugh all the time."
