It turned out to be a very happy birthday for Sofia Vergara indeed.

The Modern Family actress got engaged to her boyfriend Nick Loeb on her 40th birthday, Wonderwall is reporting.

Loeb reportedly proposed to Vergara last night in Mexico where the couple is celebrating her birthday with close friends and family. In a photo on Twitter posted by her friend Fernando Fiore, whom she worked with on the show Fuera de Serie, Vergara is seen with a sparkly ring on her left ring finger.

The couple has been dating since 2010, but briefly split in May before rekindling their romance by early June.

Vergara has been married once before to Joe Gonzalez, whom she has one child with, son Manolo.
