Less than a month after revealing her mother's stomach cancer diagnosis, singer Natalie Cole's mom, Maria Cole, has died.

Just a few days prior, the 62-year old singer asked for fan's prayers via Twitter on July 6, telling her followers "Mom is fading fast."

Earlier today, Natalie expressed her gratitude for the recent outpouring of kindness in light of Maria's death on July 10.

"I just want to thank everyone for their prayers & loving support," she wrote to her Facebook page. "She will be next to Dad at Forest Lawn."

Natalie's mother and widow of Nat "King" Cole was 89-years-old when she passed in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. A private service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale CA.
