Kelsey and Kayte Grammer Welcome First Child

Kelsey Grammer and wife Kayte welcomed their first child together, a daughter, this morning in Los Angeles. The announcement, however, was a bittersweet one as the couple revealed the tragic loss of their son conceived in the twin pregnancy.

"Early this morning Kayte gave birth to Faith Evangeline Elisa Grammer," Kayte and Kelsey shared in a joint statement to ET, telling us they're "thrilled" to share the happy news with the world. Weighing in at 6 lbs. 2oz., the newest member of the Grammer clan is said to be in "excellent health" along with her mother.

The couple announced that they were expecting twins in January, but tragically lost their little boy soon after.

"We were ecstatic earlier this year, when we announced that Kayte was carrying twins. Tragically we lost the little boy shortly thereafter," the Grammers reveal. "This was not something we cared to make known publicly at the time. It was unspeakably painful and we know that people will understand our desire to keep the news private then, as we know they will respect our privacy in this matter now. A glorious birth with a lingering sadness is ours today. We choose to celebrate the life that has been given us. We proudly introduce our Faith to the world today looking forward to the days ahead and the children yet to come."

Daughter Faith is the first child born to the couple who were married in February, 2011. Kayte previously miscarried in 2010.

Kelsey also has a daughter (actress Spencer Grammer) with his first wife Doreen Alderman, another daughter with stylist Barrie Buckner and two children with ex-wife Camille Grammer.
