Best in Show star Fred Willard was arrested for lewd conduct Wednesday night in Los Angeles, California, ET can confirm.
According to the Hollywood Police Department, LAPD uniform officers were doing a routine inspection at the Tiki Room, an adult theater on Santa Monica Boulevard, where they saw Willard allegedly "engaged in a lewd act." He was arrested and booked for lewd conduct, and later released on his own recognizance.
"With all do [due] respect to the individual officer, our belief [is] that Fred did nothing in violation of any law," his rep Paul Takakjian said in a statement to ET. "We will be working vigorously to clear his name in this matter."
Willard, 72, is most famous for his roles in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Wall-E and This is Spinal Tap. He's currently the host of ABC's improv series Trust Us With Your Life.
