As moviegoers flock to theaters nationwide this weekend to see the summer blockbuster The Dark Knight Rises, everyone will be on heightened alert following the massacre in Aurora, Colorado.
Theaters have vowed to take extra security measures to keep patrons safe. But, too little too late. A woman who was in the doomed screening recounted, "He took a gun and pointed it straight to my face."
Just days ago, star Anne Hathaway enthusiastically promised, "It really does live up to [the hype.]" Now, the cast has cancelled plans to hold an elaborate premiere tonight in Paris, France.
President Barack Obama and Hollywood's biggest stars have offered their condolences to the victims and their families. All major network news organizations have relocated their Friday night broadcasts to Colorado for continued extensive coverage.
