The Dark Knight Rises star Christian Bale is in Aurora, CO to visit victims of last week's tragic movie theater shooting, reports The Denver Post.

Moviegoers had been watching the first midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises last Friday when suspected assailant James Holmes opened fire indiscriminately on the crowd, killing 12 and injuring dozens. On Saturday, Bale released a statement in response, saying, "Words cannot express the horror that I feel. I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them."
