Inside Christian Bale's Heroic Visit to Aurora, CO

On Tuesday, The Dark Knight Rises star Christian Bale paid his respects to those killed during the Aurora, Co theater massacre last Friday with a surprise visit to victims recovering in nearby hospitals.

With wife Sibi by his side, Bale made the unannounced trip yesterday afternoon, visiting with those wounded in last Friday's massacre. The star spent hours meeting with the injured, followed by a stop to the memorial site where Bale proceeded to lay flowers and recite a prayer for the fallen.
Word of Bale's arrival spread quickly, attracting local news media to his whereabouts, however the star declined to speak with the press during the trip. Hospital personnel later relayed their patients' joy at the surprise visit from Batman himself, as Bale's appearance was an incredible morale boost for those recovering from their injuries.

On Saturday, the actor released a statement in response to the incident which killed 12 and injured dozens, saying, "Words cannot express the horror that I feel. I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them."
