
'Selena' Actress Lupe Ontiveros Dies

Lupe Ontiveros, known for her memorable role in Selena, has passed away.
Desperate Housewives co-star Eva Longoria tweeted her condolences: "I'm deeply saddened at the news of my dear friend Lupe Ontiveros passing. She was more than a colleague to me, she was my family. My heart is with your family Lupe..."

Friend Rick Najera told the Associated Press that Lupe died Thursday night while surrounded by the company of family and friends, including fellow thesps Esai Morales and Edward James Olmos. She passed at a Whittier, CA hospital.
Additional screen credits include As Good As It Gets, Real Women Have Curves, and The Goonies. Lupe's publicists cited liver cancer as the cause of death, according to CNN. She was 69 years-old.
