ET confirms that Kimmel, 44, asked McNearney, 34, to marry him while they were vacationing in South Africa's Kruger National Forest.

Kimmel and McNearney, a co-head writer on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, have been dating since 2009.

This will be Kimmel's second marriage; he was married to his first wife Gina from 1988 to 2002, with whom he shares two children. Kimmel also dated comedian Sarah Silverman for several years until they split in 2009.
