Singer Bobby Brown is asking fans to keep his wife, Alicia Etheredge-Brown, in their prayers while she recovers from a seizure suffered Saturday night.

"The report that my wife was rushed to the hospital is true," Brown wrote to his Twitter account following reports she had a seizure this weekend in their Kissimmee, FL hotel room. "She is recovering and is in good spirits and doing well. Please keep my family in your prayers."

The singer was doing a soundcheck for a New Edition show at the Gaylord Palms Resort when he heard the news, according to a local news source, which claims Alicia has since been released from the nearby hospital.

The couple got engaged in 2010 when Brown proposed to Etheredge during a New Edition show in Jacksonville, FL. Brown has credited Etheredge with giving him a new lease on life following his 2007 divorce from Whitney Houston, who died in February at age 48.
