Miley Cyrus is facing misdemeanor criminal battery charges after a late night fracas broke out at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood this weekend.

Officer Herrera of the LAPD tells ET that the young pop star is listed as a suspect in an incident that occurred at 1:15 a.m. Sunday morning. The alleged victim filed a subsequent police report, and no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation.

Online reports contend that the alleged victim and Miley's fiancé, Liam Hemsworth, exchanged some nasty words, and Miley stepped in between them when the melee broke out.

Of the situation, Miley's rep tells ET, "This claim is completely false and erroneous."
