
Amanda Bynes Enters Pleas in Hit-and-Run Cases

Amanda Bynes has pleaded not guilty to hit-and-run charges filed against her in two separate incidents this year in which she allegedly struck a car and then left the scene.

A lawyer for the 26-year-old star appeared in court Thursday on her behalf and entered not guilty pleas duing an arraignment on two misdemeanor hit-and-run charges involving separate crashes in April and August. Her next court hearing is scheduled for October 19.

In the April incident, Bynes allegedly hit a BMW on an L.A. freeway and then drove off. In the other case, the actress allegedly left the scene of an accident without exchanging information with the other driver after a rear-end collision. Each charge carries a maximum sentence of six months in jail and a $1000 fine.

Bynes also faces a DUI charge from April after she allegedly struck an L.A. County sheriff's cruiser in West Hollywood. She pleaded not guilty in that case and has publicly refuted the hit-and-run and DUI charges.
