ET's Christina McLarty sat down with Justin Bieber at the Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, Arizona just before the launch of his North American Tour, getting the pop star to dish on his mom's revealing new book, how his passion feeds his sanity and his career plans for the future.

In Nowhere but Up: The Story of Justin Bieber's Mom, Pattie Mallette details her experiences with sex abuse and depression before giving birth to her son.

"My mom went through a lot growing up, and I feel like it's going to help a lot of young girls who went through a similar story," said Bieber, who admitted to getting emotional while reading the book. "She didn't tell me any of it until I was old enough. I was like 'Wow, I can't believe you stayed so strong through me being young. It's great.'"

While Bieber has been able to have a more fortunate adolescence than his mother, the stresses of his hectic lifestyle could drive a lesser person to breakdown. The pop star commented on how he maintains his sanity, saying, "I think it's the passion inside me; that passion to just go out there and make everyone super happy and proud of me. I just want to make a good impact on the world. Whether to believe, or never give up on your dreams, because I never thought I could be here. You guys probably don't think you can get to where you could get but you can, because I'm here performing in this huge arena, with all this huge production. I never thought that I would be able to do any of this; this is beyond my wildest dreams."

Still the 18-year-old continues to set more goals for himself to achieve.

"I hope to [go] further in acting," said Bieber, who made a few appearances on CSI in 2010 and 2011. "I have a few offers for different scripts after my tour's done, so I'm pretty excited about that. And I just want to figure out roles that are going to be good for me. I want to do some comedy stuff ... I want to do some action stuff..."
