October 10, 2012
Tori Spelling is opening up about the complications suffered during her last pregnancy that she says nearly killed her.
"I just remember thinking, I can't leave three children behind," the 39-year-old actress reveals to US Weekly about spending 10 weeks in the hospital pregnant with her latest son Finn suffering from a condition that caused massive internal bleeding and nearly forced doctors to terminate her pregnancy. Spelling already had three children with husband Dean McDermott -- Liam, 5, Stella, 4, and Hattie, 1.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 star tells the new issue of the magazine on newsstands Friday that she was diagnosed with the condition -- called placenta previa -- 20 weeks into her pregnancy with Finn. Doctors said the complication could have been caused because Spelling got pregnant with Finn just one month after Hattie was born.
The star said she was finally able to recover from the condition after enduring nine massive bleeds to safely give birth to Finn on August 30. and had a successful pregnancy. Three weeks later, she had to undergo emergency surgery after her surgical scars burst and she remained hospitalized for two weeks.
But Spelling tells US Weekly that she's now enjoying her four children at home while she continues to recover from the ordeal. In the issue, she also reveals the first pictures of Finn in an exclusive eight-page pictorial.
