New developments have arisen in the Anna Nicole Smith case today, as a state appeals court panel decided that convictions against Howard K. Stern, which were thrown out last year, can now be reinstated, ET has learned.

According to case documents obtained by ET, the court has overturned a judge's decision to throw out convictions against the former Playboy playmate's longtime companion, Stern, and her former psychiatrist, Dr. Khristine Eroshevich.

In 2010, Stern was found guilty on two counts of conspiracy to commit a crime, while Dr. Eroshevich was found guilty on two counts of conspiracy to commit a crime, one count of obtaining a prescription for opiates by fraud, and one count of obtaining a prescription for opiates by giving a false name or address. Both of Stern's convictions were thrown out at the 2011 sentencing hearing, while Dr. Eroshevich's charge was reduced from felony to a misdemeanor. She was sentenced to unsupervised probation for one year and ordered to pay a $100 fine.

Anna Nicole Smith died of an accidental overdose in 2007 at the age of 39.
