Katie Holmes is set to star in the Broadway play Dead Accounts, a new comedy from Pulitzer Prize finalist Theresa Rebeck and directed by three-time Tony winner Jack O'Brien.
Dead Accounts is the story of a brother, a sister, and a surprise reunion that turns their family upside down. Further complicating the reunion is a $27 million secret which proves that the truth can be complicated. Katie plays Lorna, a single woman trying to put her life together while living with her aging parents in Cincinnati.
"This play affects you on a very human level because it deals with the basics -- which is family, family values, moral values, set in 2012," Katie says about the relevance of her new role.
Katie herself is no stranger to the stage -- she made her Broadway debut in 2008 in Arthur Miller's drama All My Sons.
"I think it's really thrilling to see Katie Holmes on stage again," says playwright Theresa Rebeck. "It's a wonderful part for her."
Dead Accounts starts performances November 3 on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre.
