A Closer Look at Alec Baldwin's Accused Stalker

As the saga between Alec Baldwin and his alleged stalker Genevieve Sabourin deepens, ET is looking at the parallels between this scandal and the 1987 thriller Fatal Attraction, the classic tale of a love affair gone wrong.

While Baldwin denies the affair claims, Sabourin alleges that the two maintained a long-distance relationship for "more than a year."

"He was flirtatious and right away it was not about work. It was about something else," claims Sabourin, who was arrested in April after allegedly showing up outside of Baldwin's New York home uninvited. "[He was] texting me over and over again for months."

In Fatal Attraction, Glenn Close's character goes to great lengths to seek answers when her lover (played by Michael Douglas) ends their affair. Likewise, Sabourin says she is only seeking answers, although Baldwin claims they only went on one date.

The former actress defends herself against suspicions that she may have ulterior motives, telling ET, "I never wanted to leverage my career based on the fame and the money of somebody else, because for me work is work -- love is love."

Baldwin has filed a restraining order against Sabourin, claiming that she caused him "anxiety." The two are set to face off in court on November 27. A rep for Baldwin had no comment in regard to Sabourin's allegations.
