Today the lawsuit brought against Britney Spears and her mother was thrown out by a Los Angeles judge.

Sam Lutfi, who claims to be Spears' former manager, alleged that the singer owed him management fees and also accused Spears' mother Lynne of defaming him in her 2008 book Through the Storm.

Today Judge Suzanne Brugera ruled that there was not enough evidence for the case to be considered by a jury.

Lutfi gave a short statement following the decision, saying, "I will be filing an appeal."

The judge plans to officially dismiss the case tomorrow.
