Before Selena Gomez coupled up with Justin Bieber, she had her sights on another celebrity.

Deemed Glamour magazine's Woman of the Year, the 20-year-old singer/actress says she can relate to the Beliebers because she too had a teenage crush. "I adore his fans. I would never, ever want to disrespect them. You know, I get it: I was obsessed with Jesse McCartney growing up!" she admitted. "He was my world. My high school crush. So I respect it, and if anything, I admire it."

Gomez was also quick to gush over her best friend, telling the magazine, "Taylor [Swift]'s amazing. She’s so smart and sweet and humble – and she’s way more successful than I am! So when I see her after everything she's been through and she just wants to go home and bake cookies with me, that to me is awesome."

The Hit the Lights singer graces the cover of Glamour this issue, hitting newsstands Nov. 6.
