The New York Post reports that 90-year-old George Stathis was found dead in his home in the Rockaways neighborhood of Queens, N.Y., which was hit hard by the storm.

During a performance at Lenox Hill's Autumn Ball in New York City on Monday, the singer and Queens native announced that her uncle died in the storm and dedicated a performance of Time After Time to him.

"He was old. He didn't want to leave his house," Lauper told the crowd. "I was in Chicago, and I called and said [to relatives], 'Why did you guys leave him?' And they just didn't think it was going to get that bad."
