We are proud to announce that CNN veteran Rob Marciano has been named the new co-anchor for Entertainment Tonight alongside Nancy O'Dell.

Marciano will begin his co-anchoring duties in January 2013, according to an announcement made Monday by ET's Executive
Producer, Linda Bell Blue.

Marciano comes to ET from CNN News Group -- where he has been a news and weather anchor since 2003 -- and also worked across the CNN Network as a field correspondent and fill-in anchor.

"I am honored to be joining the distinguished and talented team at Entertainment Tonight, all of whom are the gold standard in entertainment journalism," said Marciano. "For over 30 years, ET has been a powerhouse in the entertainment industry and to be part of that blue chip franchise is a dream come true."

"We are so pleased to welcome Rob to the ET family," said Blue. "Rob brings with him a passion for news, a wealth of knowledge about the entertainment industry and an enormous amount of charisma that viewers have been responding to for years. We know he will be an outstanding fit for our show, our audience and the immensely talented Nancy O’Dell."

Marciano's reports for CNN from the field during Hurricane Katrina and the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico earned him a Peabody Award. He also hosted primetime specials including Rescue: Saving The Gulf,  where he worked side-by-side with the heroes who saved wildlife, skimmed oil, and cleaned up the beach after the worst oil disaster in U.S. history.
