Jamie Foxx: Big Star, Big Brother
November 29, 2012
Jamie Foxx has been named the national spokesperson for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and ET's Nancy O'Dell is with Jamie at his house to shoot hoops and meet a group of inspirational young men on the basketball court!
"What we want to try to do is -- with the help of what you're doing right now -- let the whole world know what we're doing," says Jamie, who next stars on the big screen in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained.
Big Brothers Big Sisters, the nation's premiere donor and volunteer-supported youth mentoring organization, provides mentors for at-risk kids.
Keith Rhodes, the CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County tells us, "We're very thankful of Jamie -- all the input he's given to us -- and look forward to our relationship going forward."
Jamie sees his position in Hollywood as an opportunity to change kids' lives: "We get such a charmed life and you get paid all this money -- it makes sense to turn around and do something great with it."
He adds, "Me having two kids now, you stop living for yourself at a certain point. You start living for them, so hopefully I can show them some of that magic and they'll take that and they'll have some good experiences."
