The celebrity power couple had been together for five years when Holmes opted out.

The couple -- who have one child together, six-year-old daughter Suri -- married in an Italian castle in 2006, after a whirlwind romance that made headlines from the start. Perhaps the most infamous incident? Cruise's 2005 appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show, in which he ecstatically professed his love for Holmes while jumping on a couch.

This was the first marriage for Holmes and the third marriage for Cruise, who was previously married to Nicole Kidman and Mimi Rogers. He has two adopted children with Kidman, Isabella, 19, and Connor, 17.
