Brooks Called 'Vindictive, Deceitful' In Lawsuit

Country superstar Garth Brooks is finding himself in "low places" these days after being sued by his former production partner of more than 20 years.

The former associate, Lisa Sanderson, calls the Friends In Low Places
singer, "[a]paranoid, angry, deceitful and vindictive man who will turn
against those closest to him on a dime," according to court
documents filed April 15.

Sanderson alleges to have never received promised bonuses for "loyalty and years of service" and that she "stopped receiving proper compensation from Red Stokes[Brooks' company]" back in May 2011. She is seeking $425,000 for those unpaid wages and bonuses plus other punitive damages.

Sanderson went to work for the singer's production company, Red Stokes, back in 1994 to help develop Brooks' TV and movie career. In the lawsuit, she claims that the singer sabotaged many deals with huge companies like Fox and Disney because of demands that "torpedoe[d] nearly all of the potential deals that came their way."

A statement issued by the star's production company denies the allegations. "Mr. Brooks, of course, denies everything in the lawsuit filed today by Lisa Sanderson. Mr. Brooks and Red Stokes Entertainment Inc. will continue to take the necessary steps toward resolving this matter through the legal system," a rep for Red Strokes told E! News.
