The Oscar-winning actress had been set to make appearances this week on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and Good Morning America but, according to The Washington Post, she has canceled both events.

The news source reports that the Mud star planned to promote her new movie in a Monday taping of GMA that would have aired on Wednesday, while the Late Night appearance was scheduled for tomorrow.

Witherspoon also failed to appear at a Mud press junket on Monday.

On Friday, Witherspoon was arrested with her husband, CAA agent Jim Toth, in Atlanta following an incident in which he was pulled over under suspicion of DUI.

Today Witherspoon released a statement to ET, saying, "Out of respect for the ongoing legal situation, I cannot comment on everything that is being reported right now. But I do want to say, I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said. It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. I have nothing but respect for the police and I'm very sorry for my behavior."
