Bethany Hamilton has found her one and only in fiancé Adam Dirks.

The shark-attack survivor and world-renowned surfer announced her plans to wed via her blog, where she detailed the happy moment she fell for her husband-to-be.

"Spring of 2012 I met the most amazing person of my life," she wrote. "The first thing we did was jump off a cliff together! And you could say it was love at first cliff jump."

Dirks proposed on April 9, 2012 and the twosome has since been prepping for the big day (and beyond) with counseling and prayer.

"Adam and I have been taking steps to prepare for a healthy beautiful marriage," posted Hamilton. "We take marriage seriously. Right now things are lovey-dovey and it's fun and beautiful, but we want our love to remain through thick and thin. When we have hard times, we can rely on Christ and grow closer and stronger in our love and relationship. We know we can only prepare so much, but look forward to learning and growing together as we share life – to love beyond just a feeling."

Hamilton was just thirteen when she lost her arm to a tiger shark in 2003. Despite her significant challenges, Bethany was determined to return to surfing, and in less than one month, she was back to riding the waves and became an inspiration to many.

After going pro in 2007, Hamilton penned Soul Surfer, which became a major motion picture in 2011 starring Carrie Underwood, AnnaSophia Robb, Helen Hunt, and Dennis Quaid.
