Tom Hardy Grants Ailing Mother's Wish
Kayleigh Duff dreamed of dining with actor Tom Hardy and during a break from her cancer treatment on May 27, Katie Birch helped grant her best friend's wish!
Birch connected with Hardy after his fiancee's sister saw Duff on a British talk show talking about her wedding (another milestone she dreamed of doing after being diagnosed with the same rare and aggressive form of cancer that killed her father when she was just eight) and contacted the show to arrange the surprise meeting.
"I nearly died when I saw him," the 23-year-old Duff said. "I just thought we were having a day out in London. He was so lovely and down to earth. We had lunch and tea and scones and he bought me a diamond necklace."

According to the paper, Duff is due to begin a more intensive form of chemotherapy when she returns from a Florida vacation (another item on the wishlist) with her 2-year-old son, Kai.
