McConaughey Hosts Sandy Benefit Polo Match

Celebs and polo fans alike gathered for horseback fun, champagne, and good causes Saturday at the sixth-annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, N.J.

The event, co-hosted by Matthew McConaughey, was a charity match sponsored by Veuve Clicquot champagne that benefited both Liberty State Park repair efforts -- the park suffered millions of dollars in damages due to Hurricane Sandy -- and McConaughey's just keep livin Foundation, which helps at-risk youth with fitness and wellness programs.

McConaughey had admittedly never seen a polo match before, but jumped at the chance to sign on in light of the charity efforts it supports.

Other attendees included McConaughey's wife, Camila Alves McConaughey, as well as Rosario Dawson, Ashley Olsen, and professional polo player/Ralph Lauren model Nacho Figueras.

Figueras, Argentinian, widely considered to be one of the top polo players in the world, suffered an injury two weeks prior to the event, leaving him to cheer on his son, who played in his place. Their team, the Black Watch Polo Club, won the match, 8-6.
