Known to Glee fans as the villainous cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester, this openly gay actress just announced her divorce from wife Lara Embry. Here are five things you may not know about Jane Lynch. 

1. Born July 14, 1960 in Dolton, Illinois -- her mother was a homemaker and secretary and her father a banker.

2. In contrast to her glee club-hating character, during her high school years she participated in choir and even performed in some school musicals.

3. This Is Spinal Tap writer Christopher Guest cast her in Best in Show in 2000 after directing her in a Kellogg's Frosted Flakes commercial.
