Jennifer Hudson Breaks Down On Stage
Jennifer Hudson couldn't hold back the tears when she hit the stage at the Do Something Awards to be honored for starting Hatch Day, a charity that was inspired by her late nephew Julian.
Hatch Day helps give school supplies to low-income, inner-city children and is run through the Julian D. King Gift Foundation. Hudson started the charity after her nephew, along with her mother and brother, were tragically murdered in 2008 by her sister’s estranged husband.
The 31-year-old singer/actress became emotional while watching a video about the charity, and was already in tears when she hit the stage. "It's one thing to be a celebrity but it means nothing if you can't help somebody, if you can't make a difference or a change," she said, fighting back tears.
