It's been nearly three weeks since news broke of Cory Monteith's tragic passing, and the Glee star's mother, Ann McGregor, has broken her silence and taken to twitter to thank her son's fans for their support.
On Thursday, August 1, Monteith's mom wrote:
I would like to thank all of Cory's supporters at this extremely emotional time. Your support has been overwhelming ... thank you !— ann mcgregor (@annasita) August 1, 2013
McGregor also addressed reports concerning her son's remains, tweeting that she had not, in fact, been in contact with a man purporting to know inside details about what the family planned to do with Cory's ashes.
The person releasing articles relating to my feelings and thoughts on how to take care of Cory’s ashes has never been in contact with me.— ann mcgregor (@annasita) August 1, 2013
I have never met or spoken to this person He does not represent me or my wishes.— ann mcgregor (@annasita) August 1, 2013
Earlier this week, Lea Michele took to twitter for the very first time since her boyfriend's death, posting a picture of the two in happier times, cuddling on the beach.
Monteith died from a mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol, on July 13.
