'Butler' Cast's Personal Experiences with Racism

Over the arc of Lee Daniels' The Butler, the titular character, portrayed by Forest Whitaker, experiences not only the tenure of many different U.S. presidents but also the evolution of society.
One such factor of societal dynamics that changed over the course of the butler, "Cecil Gaines'" (based on real-life White House butler Eugene Allen), tenure was race relations.
