One of Nick Cannon's pet projects is working as an ambassador for Project CANVAS, which gets celebrities to design their own shoes to help raise money to support underfunded creative art programs in public schools. Nick recently showed us some of his favorite star-designed footwear and also gave an update on his wife Mariah's shoulder injury.

"Project CANVAS is really cool, it's a footwear brand that allows you to express your own creativity," Nick explains, adding that the concept blends the areas of fashion, art and philanthropy.

"It's easy to get involved with Project CANVAS, you just have to get a pair of the shoes," he said. "The idea of being able to create your own cool shoe, there's no limit to how you can be involved in that." Some of the big names who've designed their own shoes on display include Ellen DeGeneres, Cee Lo Green, Ozzy Osbourne and of course his superstar wife, Mariah Carey.

Nick also commented on Mariah's recovery from a shoulder injury suffered last month during a music video shoot. "My wife is doing a lot, lot better. The physical therapy is definitely working. At [the recent premiere of Lee Daniels' The Butler], she still couldn't really move her right hand, but now she's got a little bit of the functionality of her hand back," he revealed. "She's still got the blinged-out slings, but hopefully she won't need those pretty soon!"
