Bethany Hamilton married Adam Dirks on Sunday in a ceremony in front of family and friends in Hawaii.
The shark-attack survivor and world-renowned surfer announced the news on her Twitter. "Today was the most beautiful, wonderful best day of my life! God is more than good(: Excited to live life with my husband Adam Dirks!"
The couple tied the knot in front of 300 guests on a secluded hilltop near on north shore of Kauai near the small town of Kilauea, where Hamilton grew up, according to People magazine. The happy couple wrote and spoke their own vows and were barefoot during the ceremony, which was followed by their first dance to Ben Harper's The Three of Us, the magazine reported.
Bethany, 23, met Adam on a blind date and he proposed on April 9, 2012.
Bethany was just 13 years old when she lost her arm in a shark attack in 2003, but she quickly bounced back in an inspiring return to surfing. After going pro in 2007, she penned Soul Surfer, which became a major motion picture in 2011 starring Carrie Underwood, AnnaSophia Robb, Helen Hunt, and Dennis Quaid.
