Lee Thompson Young, who starred on Disney's The Famous Jett Jackson, was found dead Monday morning of an apparent suicide by gunshot, police confirmed to ET.

He was 29 years old.

Police responded at about 9:45 a.m., after a welfare check was called on Young when he didn't show up to set this morning on TNT's Rizzoli & Isles, in which he currently appears. Officers arrived, who pronounced him dead on the scene.

Young's long time manager Jonathan Baruch released the following statement.

"It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning. Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed. We ask that you please respect the privacy of his family and friends at this very difficult time."

"Everyone at Rizzoli & Isles is devastated by the news of the passing of Lee Thompson Young. We are beyond heartbroken at the loss of this sweet, gentle, good-hearted, intelligent man," TNT, Warner Bros. and Rizzoli & Isles Executive Producer Janet Tamaro said in a statement. "He was truly a member of our family. Lee will be cherished and remembered by all who knew and loved him, both on- and offscreen, for his positive energy, infectious smile and soulful grace. The Disney Channel also sent out a statement about the tragic passing of their former star.

"Nothing any of us can say will adequately express our sadness over Lee's untimely passing -- our thoughts are with his loved ones and the many fans of his work."

Aside from his most famous role as Jett Jackson, Young also had a role as running back Chris Comer in 2004's Friday Night Lights.

Brandy Norwood attempted to surprise fans with a concert following this past weekend's South African celebration of Mandela Sports and Culture Day, but instead, she ended up performing to an arena of empty seats.

In an attempt to keep the concert a secret up until show time, only an estimated 40 people ended up sticking around though the stadium can hold up to 90,000, multiple reports claim. Brandy, 34, reportedly sang a few songs before walking off stage.

Regardless of the small turnout, Brandy will be returning to South Africa to perform on Sept. 24, 2013.

5. Kanye Unveils Baby North on Kris Jenner's Show!

The wait is finally over.

The world finally got its first glimpse of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian's daughter North, when Kanye himself unveiled her first baby photo Friday on Kris Jenner's daytime talk show Kris.

"I thought it would be really cool, like on her grandma's show, to bring a picture of North," he said before the big reveal, confirming that the couple has not tried to profit from the sale of the first baby pictures "in any way."

Kanye, 36, also gushed about his love for Kim, 32, throughout the interview, in what's clearly the most candid he's been on their highly scrutinized relationship. He said that it was love at first sight when he first spotted the E! reality star.

"I remember seeing pictures of her -- I think she was in Australia with Paris Hilton or something -- and reading her name and telling my friends like, 'Man, have you ever seen Kim Kardajon?'" he laughs, remembering his mispronunciation of her famous last name.

" ... She was my dream girl. I remember being so nervous around her, and just in awe that she was actually in front of me. ... I was in love with her before I even got to, you know, ever talk to her."

And just how much was he infatuated with Kim?

"I wanted to be with her so bad that I thought about picking up sports," he joked, referencing Kim's past relationships with professional athletes.

Kanye also addressed some of the criticism he's faced by being involved in Kardashian projects, such as appearing on Keeping Up with the Kardashians and choosing to do an interview with Kris.

"I think the example of me even coming on this show, people -- they feel that somehow -- my girlfriend's mother and I are of different brands in a way," he said. "And it's not about anybody being at odds. It's about all of us helping each other and improving each other."
