After weeks of speculation, FOX announced Tuesday that Jennifer Lopez will be returning to the American Idol judges' table to join new judge Harry Connick Jr.

The two new panel members will join returning judge Keith Urban and the announcement also revealed that former judge Randy Jackson will return in the upcoming season as the show's in-house mentor to contestants.

Ryan Seacrest -- who has hosted American Idol since its launch -- will be back in the new season as well.

"And I am honored that they've asked me to be a judge this season. As an entertainer, I am truly excited to bring my perspective to American Idol, and to help emerging performers find their way."
