How Bill Clinton Spends His Free Time with Hillary

By

Now that his wife Hillary has more leisure time after finishing her stint as U.S. Secretary of State, former U.S. President Bill Clinton reveals to Nancy O'Dell how the two spend their newfound free time together.

This year marks the first time since Bill's two-year hiatus in the early '80s between his first and second terms as Arkansas governor that neither he nor Hillary has held a position in politics. After Bill's second term as U.S. President came to an end in 2001, Hillary became a senator in New York and most recently served a term as the 67th U.S. Secretary of State.

Now that Hillary's stint as Secretary of State has come to an end, she and Bill have more free time together than they've had in decades.

"When she came home [after finishing her term as Secretary of State], I said, 'You might find me totally boring now. You only had to put up with me two, three nights a week, and now here we are,'" Clinton said.

The 42nd President of the U.S. said that Hillary is "still the most interesting person I know," and they have loads of fun together. He revealed that they take long walks and go to the movies when they have free time.

In fact, the Clintons recently saw the historical White House drama Lee Daniels' The Butler, which he said he enjoyed and praised the performances of Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey.

It's not all long walks and movie nights for the Clintons, though. Bill and Hillary are still avidly involved in world affairs with their non-profit The Clinton Foundation, which recently held its annual meeting for the Clinton Global Initiative, which gathers global leaders to "create and implement innovative solutions to the world's most pressing challenges."

"I love politics and I love governing, but it all started with a concern for people and asking myself what could I do to give more folks a chance to have the same life I'd had," Clinton said of his foundation. "...Each of us has to find a way to try to have a positive impact."
