Kelly Clarkson Addresses Controversial VMA Tweet

Kelly Clarkson sent a major rift through the Twitterverse after the MTV Video Music Awards with a tweet that was taken to be meant for Miley Cyrus. Now, Clarkson is speaking out about the controversy with ET's Nancy O'Dell.

"2 words ... #PitchyStrippers," Clarkson wrote after the VMAs.

As Cyrus' sparsely clothed appearance grabbed the spotlight for the night, fans (including Miley's former assistant, Cheyne Thomas) interpreted the message as a shot at the former Disney star and retaliated on her behalf.

"She's fat and 30," Thomas said of Clarkson.

Clarkson seems to brush off the backlash, pointing out that her tweet didn't name anyone in particular.

"I was just being funny," said Clarkson, not confirming who the tweet was about. "Miley's super talented," Clarkson gushed.

Despite this recent conflict, the American Idol season one champ has maintained a cheerful disposition, and with good reason. The singer is just weeks away from her wedding to Brandon Blackstock!

"This really counts as my wedding, because Brandon's been married before," said Clarkson, who explained that she wants a small ceremony. "I was like, 'I really just want it to be us.' And he was like, 'I get it.'"

While the wedding might be small, their family looks like it might get an expansion.

"I can't wait to have babies with him," said Clarkson. "We're trying soon."
