Camille Grammer underwent a hysterectomy on Friday, October 11 after being diagnosed with early stage endometrial cancer.
"She underwent a radical hysterectomy today," Howard Bragman, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star's rep, revealed to People. "The surgery went well and she is expected to make a complete recovery following a significant recuperation period."
According to Bragman, the 45-year-old ex to Frasier actor Kelsey Grammer was at high risk for the cancer, due to genetic issues, and met with doctors regularly to ensure a clean bill of health prior to the diagnosis.
"[She] has been diligent about regular checkups and monitoring, which explains the early detection and rapid treatment," said the rep, adding, "Ms. Grammer expresses gratitude to all the amazing health care professionals who have taken such loving and nurturing care of her. She urges all women to be aware of genetic factors relating to women's cancers and get regular checkups."
