Last night, the posh Beverly Hills restaurant Spago was filled with A-listers and fashion moguls. The celebrity elite gathered to honor Vogue Italia Editor Franca Sozzani at the first annual Dream for Future Africa Gala. But the topic on everyone's mind was the recent engagement of celeb royalty Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, who attended the star-studded event.
The Dream for Future Africa Foundation was created by Gelila Puck, the wife of legendary chef superstar Wolfgang Puck, which is why the event was held at Wolfgang's flagship eatery Spago.
With Sozzani recently being appointed Goodwill Ambassador to the United Nations, her commitment to African culture served as the perfect focal point for DFFA's inaugural event.
And, with Wolfgang, Gelila, and Franca Sozzani all personal friends of Kim and Kanye, it made sense that the power couple would make an appearance.
"I know Kim since she was a kid," Wolfgang said, smiling and reminiscing. "I remember she used to come to Spago with her parents, and I used to make her a Mickey Mouse pizza. Now it's gonna go to the next generation already!"
Even the woman of the night, Franca Sozzani, heaped congratulations on the happy couple, and revealed that Kanye, who she's know for a while, is ecstatic about his new fiancé.
"He's very happy. I saw him today. He's very happy." Sozzani said. "He showed me the pictures of the kids. Very happy."
