Prince Harry is making last-minute preparations to participate in a 208-mile charity toboggan race to the South Pole.

Harry will leave London Sunday for Cape Town, South Africa to join one of three teams of wounded servicemen and women in the initial stage of a grueling trek to the South Pole for his Walking With The Wounded charity.

The seven-man teams comprised of individuals from the UK, British Commonwealth nations and the United States -- each with four wounded team members -- will begin the South Pole Allied Challenge on November 30 and are expected to finish the race by December 16.

In September, Prince Harry -- who also participated in a trek to the North Pole in 2011 -- spent about 20 hours inside a sub-zero training facility to prepare for harsh conditions during the trek.
