Inside the Casting of a Plus-Sized Lingerie Show

Published

ET was granted a rare peek inside the casting of the CURVExpo's lingerie fashion show, where the plus-sized models vying for the gig gave their take on this burgeoning faction of the fashion industry.

"Not everybody is a size zero, two or four," said model Kirby Cernosek. "I think that people are starting to realize that there's money in that market."

Pierre Hurstel, CEO of CURVExpo agreed, saying, "More and more [retailers] are looking for plus-sized products because the need is there."

While these models may be curvier than their counterparts (bra cups range between 36D to 46DDD and dress sizes go from 12 to 14), they still have to stay healthy.

"There's always a lot of pressure," said Cernosek. "Just because you're a plus-sized model doesn't mean that you get to eat and just relax and do whatever you want. You have to tone up and be in the gym and you have to eat very healthy."
