Arrest Made In V. Stiviano Assault Case

The NYPD have confirmed today that an arrest has been made in connection to the alleged assault of V. Stiviano, the woman at the center of the racial controversy involving ex-Clippers owner Donald Sterling.

According to police, Dominick Diorio, 40, was arrested at his Old Bethpage, New York home on Tuesday on charges of third-degree assault as a hate crime, harassment, and aggravated harassment for his alleged attack on Stiviano.

According to Stiviano's accounts, the incident took place the evening of Sunday, June 1, when Stiviano was leaving a restaurant in Manhattan. According to her accounts, two men who recognized her began calling her racial slurs, including the "n-word" before physically attacking her.

The men allegedly punched her in the face several times while they continued to hurl racially-charged profanities.

Stiviano was taken to her hotel where a doctor examined her injuries. Stiviano spoke to Radar Online the night of the attack. Stiviano then filed an official police report on Monday.

Diorio is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday evening or early Wednesday morning, and police have not commented on whether or not they have identified the other possible suspect in the assault.
